Smuggler Mine, Aspen
Artist Matt Copson, with composer Oliver Leith, presented a multi-sensory installation within the caves of Aspen’s storied Smuggler Mine. Celebrated for his virtuosic laser animations, innovative theater works and his 2022 opera Last Days made also in collaboration with Leith, Copson developed a site-specific, immersive environment that draws from the mine’s organic and built architectures to create a singular audiovisual world.
